Integration and development possibilities with the e-Commerce Framework
What can the e-Commerce Framework integrate with?
Here at Mediachase we are often asked the question: "Can the eCF integrate with A?" or "Can I do B with the eCF?" or even, "Does the eCF have such-and-such a feature?"
Features, Integration, and extendability
While the eCF has already many great features out-of-the-box, the answer to all the above questions is yes. By that I mean: if you can develop a solution, the achitecture of the eCF allows for virtually any integration, extension of features, or modification. Need to write your own customized shopping cart? You can do that with the eCF. Do you have a client who requires specialized fields for customers? You can add those fields. Do you want to integrate with 3rd party solutions? You can do this as well.
This is not to say that the out-of-the-box eCF is lacking, it certainly is not. In fact, it is deep with features and integration including DotNetNuke and Community Server.
The eCF as a "Framework"
One must keep in mind that the eCF is indeed a framework. And as such it provides a structure in which you can organize or develop within. If you choose to acquire our front-end source or full-source you will be able to use our classes, modules, Client library, etc to work towards your own solution.
