    Mediachase Affiliate Program

    I need more information on the built in Affiliate Program on Mediachase. I have not been able to find info on any of the documentations other than how to add and modify Affiliate details. How will sales from affiliates be tracked as there didn’t appear to be any affiliate link for the usage of affiliates.

    Cheers!

    Re: Mediachase Affiliate Program

    The affiliate works this way:
    1. Customer comes in with a link that includes affiliateid query string in the form of ?affiliateid = guid
    2. The system recognizes the affiliate id and remembers it in the cookie.
    3. Customer places and order and information including affiliate id is passed to the webservices.
    4. The affiliate id is associated with an order.
    Hope this helps,
    Sasha.

    Re: Mediachase Affiliate Program

    Hi Sasha.

    I've tried to test the affiliate functionality but didn't seem to work. What I did was to create a new affiliate (guid: a2ac114d-397a-4084-8a63-7331f944d7ff) and then I followed your steps (in a new window I passed the affliateid parameter to the public store).

    After placing an order, I opened the Order table and the AffiliateId was NULL.

    Also, I didn't find a report in the Commerce Manager to filter orders by Affiliate.

    How can I see orders from a specific Affiliate?

    Is there a place where I can find the commision earned by an Affiliate?

    Thanks a lot!

    Cesar.

    Re: Mediachase Affiliate Program

    Cesar,

    I think the problem is that the querystring is not

    ?aff={gui}

    It's

    ?aff={affliate id on the database, which is an integer value}

    Thanks a lot,
    Rolando.-

    Re: Mediachase Affiliate Program

    Hi, try ?aff={guid} instead of ?affiliateid

    The actual querystring parameter can and is specified in the web.config of the front end.

    Thanks.

    Hi Rolando, thank you for your comment.

    After trying different combinations, the one that works is:

    ?aff={guid}

    Do anyone know if this is possible?

    Thanks.

    Re: Mediachase Affiliate Program

    Cesar,

    Sorry about missing this post.  The only built in report we have for affiliates is under Reports | Sales | Affiliate Sales in the backend of the commerce manager.  This report is a sales report by date as opposed to a filter by affiliate, but you could easily modify this report and add additional filters as you require.

    You have several additional options for creating reports including third party tools and .NET components.  We provide a direct integration into the backend to Microsoft Enterprise reporting tools which if you simply setup a server you have access to put your own reports for your end users within the ECF commerce manager backend.

    This provides you with a virtually unlimited set of possibilities based on the capabilities of the reporting services including subscription based reporting, automated delivery, BI, multi-format output etc..

    The reporting defintion can be done right from within Visual Studio.

    http://www.microsoft.com/sql/technologies/reporting/default.mspx

    Hope this helps

    Note:  The interface to reporting services can be defined in the ECF in the commerce manager configuration area.

    Re: Mediachase Affiliate Program

    Hi Sasha,

    just wanted to enquire about attaching the affiliate ID to a specific product on our site.

    can you verify if this is correct:

    www.mysite.com/catalog/ProductInfo.aspx?id=2957&?affiliateid=3c05cba8-51d4-4941-93f2-0505d53a642b

    Thanks

    Re: Mediachase Affiliate Program

    Use &aff=3c05cba8-51d4-4941-93f2-0505d53a642b

    You dont specify a '?' for each parameter.
