Problem with category Code when importin from csv

    Hi,

I have a problem when trying to import products from .csv

I have a column named Category where I store the category ID. When I am trying to import the products, an error is displayed for each product and the products are not imported.

System error. Invalid value CategoryCode ('119')

Is there something wrong I am doing? Is this a bug?

    Many thanks

Re: Problem with category Code when importin from csv

    Hi,
it seems that you try to attach product to category using CategoryId (int). You should use CategoryCode (nvarchar(50)) instead.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Problem with category Code when importin from csv

Such error occurs when the category is not found by code. Check up existence of the category with such code more carefully.

Re: Problem with category Code when importin from csv

The code I gave as example (CAT70652209) was taken from "Edit Category" section. Therefore the code exists.

    Mediachase eCommerce Framework 4.1 (4.1.2.16751)

Re: Problem with category Code when importin from csv

    Hi,
we have successfully tested import in version 4.1.2.16751. Connecting product and category is working fine. New and already existing products are connected to selected custom category successfully. If we try to connect product to category which does not exist the following error occurs: System error. Invalid value CategoryCode ('CAT39230278~')". Everything is OK.
What was the first ECF release you used? Did you change/update your database?

Re: Problem with category Code when importin from csv

I have checked directly the database now. The problem is that some of my categories (although they exist in the database) do not have a value for the field "Code". Probably they were imported and the system does not generate a default value for them. I have added a value to "Code" field and the import was successfull. Maybe you should think of a way to avoid insertion of categories without having a value for "Code".
For now i will check before importing, but there might be other users facing this problem in the future.

Many thanks for your support. I'll let you know if there are any other issues.
