    Testing File Upload component

    Hi,

I want to automate testing for Mediachase file uploader component. I am using the file uploader component to read the posted file and save it into database. I want to be able to simulate this environment so that i can test the control. I have used few stress testing tools but these dont save the files into database. They just basically do the "load test". I also tried few regression testing tools but without luck.

Can you either suggest me of some tools that i can use to test the actual functionality of the uploader component, or probably give me some idea on what parameters i need to pass to any testing tool for file upload process.

    Thanks,

    Ritesh

    Re: Testing File Upload component

You should be able to create a page that accepts the file to be uploaded and then create a web stress test that does the actual file upload. You can create that using VS.NET and web test. You will not be able to do that using just Unit tests, since file uploader requires HttpContext.

    Hope this helps,
    Sasha.
