    Couple of functional Pre-Sale questions

    Greetings and Salutations,

Couple of quick questions: (Assume ECF will connect to a stand alone ERP solution)

How can ECF handle a concept known as "source code" pricing? Customers get the catalog and can order over the phone or online by supplying the contained code. ERP contains price tables for products based on source code. Our price lookup is Item# + Sku + Sourcecode = BasePrice.

Related ship-to and sold-to accounts. Parent corps purchase product to be shipped to child locations but billed to the parent. So most orders update 2 customer accounts. Assuming this relationship lives in the ERP, could the checkout process handle this?

A/B page version testing. Example product X page displaying in template A 60% of the time and template B for 40% of the time. So we can do useability and marketting testing etc.

Multiple virtual/landing page urls for a single page. IE x.com/holiday x.com/holidays both redirect to x.com/hoiliday

Newsletter signup / Request Catalog. (Read previous posts that this would be possible in ECF 5.0)

Handle oldurl to newurl mapping (if url structure can't be reproduced).
Handle multiple domain mapping IE x.com and y.com point to different brands/theme of the same application.

Sorry if the answers are currently available in existing documentation.

    Thanks
    -Rob

Re: Couple of functional Pre-Sale questions

    Hi Rob,

Thank you for your interest in the ECF.

These kinds of implementations have been done in the past by our Professional Services team and Solutions Providers using both the ECF 4.x line and ECF G5 integrated with Microsoft Dynamics and other types of ERP solutions.

ECF G5 has a better modular architecture with subsystems such as Ordering and Content Management and Marketing subsystems which can be customized or completely replaced and integrated with other systems. For example, one partner completely replaced the ECF G5 CMS system with Sitecore recently.

ECF G5 is far easier to develop with given this architecture where subsystems are not as tightly coupled together so I would recommend G5 over ECF 4.

For specific questions regarding technical approaches for your specific ECF implementation, please email sales@mediachase.com.
