Hi,

I´m new to the ECF product and right now I´m devloping a small B2C site for one of our customers.

I am a bit confused about the product and SKUs handling. I understand that the product might be a "Canon Camera" and the variation can be a "Canon Camera Black", thats fine but what I dont understand is what the benefit of this is?

The problem I´m currently having is that I´m using the ECF Search API (Lucene) to get varations in a specific catalog node, but right now it´s mixing both products and varations in the search list which I dont want and I dont see how I could just tell the Lucene that I want just variations in the search result.

I mean, why would I want to search for products that dont have a price and cannot be bought?

I have got the Everything Sample Store up and running and when i look into the Everything Catalog I cant see any products in the catalog only SKUs.

So what is the purpuse of using products and how can I only search for SKUs with the Lucene.NET API? Because right now I´m displaying products together with my SKUs in the search results...

I´m using ECF version 5.1.

I am almost having the same kind of question here. The difference is that I only want the products to be found and no variances.
The reason is that our client doesn't want to have say 40 T-shirts show up in the results, when they only differ in size/color/etc. A t-shirt is the product you look for and that is what must be returned by the search eninge.

(the specific choice of t-shirt is then made by choosing the facets (red/XXL/etc) of choice in a second screen)

How can I accomplish this?
