Error using settings in DotNetNuke module catalog

    Hi,

I'm new with ECF and I just installed the trial version today. I also set up a fresh DotNetNuke installation and followed the installation steps provided with the  ECF DNN files. All looks good , but the problems starts when I select the "settings" menu item with the catalog module. As soon as I select it, I recieve the following error message:

    Error: Module is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.Exceptions.ProcessModuleLoadException(PortalModuleBase ctrlModule, Exception exc) at Mediachase.Modules.EcfStore.Settings.LoadSettings() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Modules.ModuleSettingsPage.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I hope someone has a suggestion on what could be wrong and I would also like to know when there will be a final release for the DotNetNuke implementation.

Can you post a screenshot of the error screen you are getting?

    Thanks.

    Attachment: error.jpg

See the file attachment for the error message.

I also noticed that when I have the original source of dotnetnuke, including the ecf controls, i'm not abble to build the solution. This is because of wrong references in several aspx pages to the correct usercontrols. It also seems that the signature of some methods where changed.

    Regards,

    Patrick

    Patrick,

You may need to reference the ECF dll's.  Are you still experiencing problems using DNN?

Re: Error using settings in DotNetNuke module catalog

    Hi

I'm also experiencing the same problem. I'm fairly new to DNN, and I'm using v4.3.1

Please see below for the error message

    Error: Module is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Modules.ModuleSettingsPage.BindData() in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\dnn\Admin\Modules\ModuleSettings.ascx.vb:line 175 at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Modules.ModuleSettingsPage.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\dnn\Admin\Modules\ModuleSettings.ascx.vb:line 253 --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
    Any ideas?

    Many Thanks

    Marc
