Case Study Summary
Ultreo, the makers of the new ultrasound toothbrush, were looking for a way to give their sales representatives access to contact and customer information while they were on the road. This information was inaccessible to sales reps unless they were in the office, and so they used a manual process to keep track of their customer information. The solution was to bring the information that was maintained in the Dynamics NAV database to the sales reps via a web portal.
The Challenges and Requirements
Ultreo needed to provide their sales representatives with real time information that was maintained in their Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP system. While on the road and at trade shows, the Ultreo sales reps needed to be able to create new customers, contacts, and even place orders. The portal needed to provide all of their information and functionality in an intuitive interface that could be accessed securely from any web browser.
The Solution – Mediachase’s ECF 4.1, ECF Integration Services and Western Computer’s Fusion NAV
Ultreo chose Mediachase and Western Computer because of their strong working partnership and experience with integrating ecommerce, collaboration, and custom web applications with Dynamics NAV. Mediachase worked with the team at Ultreo to help define the project requirements and goals and then designed and engineered the Ultreo sales portal. Mediachase leverages Western Computer’s Fusion NAV product to allow for bi-directional synchronization of data and information between the sales portal and the Dynamics NAV back end.

Mediachase is supplying program management, application development, graphic design, training and education, implementation and support services for the web portal and Dynamics NAV ERP integration. Mediachase also provided training and on-site support for the trade show at which the Ultreo sales portal was unveiled. Additionally, Mediachase consultants have been involved in the ongoing support, web hosting and management of their sales portal interface.
