For payroll purposes, effectively tracking time on projects and other tasks is important to efficiently calculate resource costs while saving money on billing and invoicing.  Version 4.5 of the IBN had basic time tracking capabilities, which only allowed you to track time from within a specific project.  So if you were working on another task, you couldn’t combine it with the time on your current project.  However, with IBN 4.7, time-tracking has been given a major upgrade in functionality that makes it far more useful and powerful for companies that need full tracking for billing purposes with a proper submission and approval process.

With the introduction of the IBN 4.7 comes the inclusion of the time-manager security role.  First, input your time, project information, and data into your timesheet; you can also import tasks from different projects so you don’t have to input all of your project information manually.  Once you’ve reported all of your tasks into your timesheet, you can then send your timesheet for approval to the project manager, who will then approve or reject it and send it back to you to fix it.  If the project manager approves it, it gets sent to the time-manager who can also accept or reject it.  Once the timesheet is accepted, its statue will change to “APPROVED.”  If it’s rejected, then it’s sent back to the user who can make changes if needed.  You can also export your timesheets to a standard Microsoft Excel file for viewing outside your IBN portal.

Moreover, as is the nature of the IBN, you can customize the approval process however the needs of your company via the administrative options.  Create any approval process that can be repeated the way you want it.
